Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) is an elastomer that vulcanizes and crosslinks in the atmosphere or heated state with a small amount of water as initiator or platinum as catalyst. According to the packaging form, it can be divided into single component and two-component (multi-component). According to the reaction type, it can be divided into condensation type or addition type liquid silicone rubber. Liquid silicone rubber does not contain any stabilizer, plasticizer or accelerator. As a cross-linking material, it can withstand very high temperature without thermal aging, and maintain its mechanical properties and elasticity. By changing some side groups on it, the material can be modified to meet specific functions or requirements. LSR has excellent chemical stability, oil resistance and weather resistance. It can remain stable in the temperature range of 50 ℃ to 180 ℃. After adding stabilizer, it can remain stable at a temperature higher than 250 ℃, and has low-temperature flexibility at - 60 ℃. LSR is usually transparent, can add other pigments as needed, and is very easy to color. It is widely used in electronic component sealing, pipe sealing, medical devices, keyboards and baby related products. Liquid silicone rubber has great development potential in the fields of 3D printing, waterproof, coating, food contact silica gel and wearable parts. Of course, the application in the automotive industry has also achieved all-round coverage, such as connectors in the automotive industry, electric vehicle battery seals, engine gaskets, headlamp seals and shock absorbers. It has become the preferred material to provide sealing, heat insulation and protection internal application solutions.
