Introduction to Fluorosilicone Rubber
Fluorosilicone rubber has excellent oil resistance, solvent resistance, chemical resistance, and high and low temperature resistance. It is an elastic material that combines the excellent properties of silicone rubber and fluororubber. It is currently the only rubber material that can be used in lubricating oil and fuel media at -68~230 ℃. It can meet the technical requirements for solvent resistance, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance that are difficult for organic silicon materials and even organic fluorine materials to meet in extreme temperature conditions such as sealing, coating, lining, and impregnation processes. In addition, due to its low surface energy, fluorosilicone rubber is widely used as an oil resistant, solvent resistant lubricant, release agent, and defoamer.
Fluorosilicone rubber is also used to prepare fuel and solvent resistant seals, sealing rings, oil seals, diaphragms, conduits, valve liners, rubber hoses, integral fuel tank seals, O-rings, diaphragms, and gaskets for various locomotives, aerospace vehicles, and petrochemicals. It is also used for surface coating of connecting components and cables, conveyor belts, fabrics, etc. in the power and electronics industries, and is an essential material for the defense industry, aerospace, and petroleum industry.
At present, the global production and sales volume of fluorosilicone rubber (mainly thermosetting fluorosilicone rubber) has reached 3000 tons per year, mainly consumed in high-tech fields in developed countries such as the United States, Europe, and Japan, with fluorosilicone materials for automobiles accounting for the main share. With the rapid development of China's economy, the amount of fluorosilicone rubber used is also increasing day by day. In 2004, the consumption of fluorosilicone materials reached over 200 tons. China's fluorosilicon materials mainly rely on imports, and there is currently no industrialized complete set of equipment in the country. The construction of this project can fill the domestic gap, change the situation of dependence on imports, and have broad market prospects.
