Some manufacturers use imported raw materials to synthesize and produce food grade silicone liquid silicone, while others use domestically produced materials to produce liquid silicone. Some manufacturers even use waste rubber to recycle and extract cracked materials to produce silicone. So how to identify good food grade silicone, and what are the differences between liquid silicone produced from different materials?
Firstly, let's look at the appearance. The food grade silicone liquid gel made of brand new and good materials is transparent and shiny, and the gel is also very delicate. The phenomenon displayed is that the liquid silicone has good fluidity and smoothness. The liquid silicone produced from waste rubber cracking material has a yellowish and opaque color, and the gel has obvious uneven separation of the silicone layer. Poor liquid silicone gel has obvious lumps and impurities when stirred, and its fluidity is poor.
Secondly, smell the odor. Truly good food grade silicone is odorless, environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and tasteless. The liquid silicone produced from cracking materials uses inferior silicone oil and base gel, which may have some odor and cannot be completely environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and odorless.
Finally, let's look at the effect after curing. Liquid silicone made from imported raw materials has a very dry surface after curing, without any oil or stickiness. Ordinary silicone made from cracked silicone is particularly prone to oil and stickiness after curing, especially for zero degree liquid silicone.
