Based on the characteristics and use environment of new energy vehicle cables, the corresponding requirements for the manufacturing materials of new energy vehicle cables are also put forward. For insulation and sheath materials, good high and low temperature resistance, excellent bending resistance and tear resistance are required. At present, the most widely used materials in the industry are crosslinked polyolefin, thermoplastic elastomer and silicone rubber. Among them, silicone rubber has good high and low temperature resistance, voltage resistance and flexibility, which makes this material very fit the requirements of products.
Silicone rubber is a thermosetting material, cross - linked products will not melt at high temperature. Its long-term high temperature resistance can reach 180 degrees Celsius, after adjusting the formula can be increased to more than 200 degrees Celsius. Low temperature resistance up to minus 50 degrees Celsius, special products up to minus 120 degrees Celsius.
Organic silicone rubber also has good insulation performance, its breakdown voltage is above 20KV/mm, can help the cable to maintain good insulation and stability.
On this basis, silicone rubber can also provide excellent mechanical properties, such as high tear strength. High tear resistance silicone rubber can make up for the weakness of conventional silicone rubber tear strength, tear strength can reach more than 40N/mm, elongation at break can reach more than 500%. This material provides the cable with good bending and steering ability, helping the cable to be tightly arranged in small Spaces.
