How about dimethyl silicone oil as a catalyst?
Dimethyl silicone oil, as a lubricant, has a very good softening effect in fabrics and shampoos; as a release agent, it is also very effective for the demolding of plastic products; as a brightener in the brightening formulations of automobile brighteners and so on, it can achieve the best effect with the minimum amount. How about using dimethyl silicone oil as a catalyst?
The catalyst made from dimethyl silicone oil is a polydimethylsiloxane with a chain structure of different degrees of polymerization. In chemical reactions, it can change (accelerate or slow down) the reaction rates of other substances, while its own mass and chemical properties will not change before and after the reaction (they will change during the reaction process). Its advantages are as follows:

1. It has excellent shear stability, can absorb vibrations and prevent the spread of vibrations, and can be used as a damping fluid.
2. It has excellent thermal oxidation stability. For example, the thermal decomposition temperature is higher than 300 °C, and the evaporation loss is small (at 150 °C for 30 days, the evaporation loss is only 2%). In the oxidation test (at 200 °C for 72 hours), the changes in viscosity and acid value are small.
3. It has excellent electrical insulation. The volume resistance and so on do not change within the range from room temperature to 130 °C (but there should be no water in the oil).
4. The catalyst made from dimethyl silicone oil is an oil with low toxicity, low foaming property and strong antifoaming property, and can be used as an antifoaming agent and so on.
5. Its viscosity-temperature performance is the best among liquid lubricants, and the viscosity changes little within a wide temperature range. Its freezing point is generally lower than -50 °C, and some are as high as -70 °C. When stored at low temperatures for a long time, the appearance and viscosity of the oil product will not change. It is a base oil that takes into account high temperature, low temperature and a wide temperature range.
From the above, it can be seen that our dimethyl silicone oil not only has very good effects as a brightener, lubricant and release agent, but also has great advantages when used as a catalyst.
