Food grade silicone is a type of additive liquid silicone, belonging to platinum sulfide silicone, divided into AB two-component, one-to-one ratio.
 Additive formed food grade silicone is composed of main raw materials such as hydrogen containing silicone oil, vinyl silicone oil, 107 based gel, platinum catalyst, etc. Therefore, the quality of these basic raw materials directly affects the cost of food grade silicone.

The quality of silicone oil materials on the market varies greatly, including imported Dow Corning silicone oil, Xinyue silicone oil, and Wacker silicone oil;
 There are also domestic silicone oils such as Xinghuo silicone oil and Xin'an silicone oil, as well as some silicone oils extracted by small factories themselves.

So is food grade silicone cheap?

Each manufacturer produces different qualities, uses different materials, and prices.
 Food grade silicone made from cracking materials is generally inexpensive and cost-effective, but the quality of the produced silicone is poor. After the silicone is cured, it is prone to problems such as sticking and oil leakage. What is serious is that the silicone oil extracted from waste rubber recycling has a slight pungent odor and cannot meet the standards of food grade certification. Therefore, it cannot be used to produce food grade silicone molds.

Using brand new and high-quality materials to make food grade silicone, when the silicone is completely cured, its tear strength and surface effect will be very good.
 Therefore, the price of condensed industrial grade liquid silicone is cheaper than that of food grade silicone.
 The reason why the price of addition type silicone is higher than that of condensation type silicone is due to the high cost of platinum catalyst.
 Under the same hardness and performance conditions, the addition type liquid silicone has a price difference of 20-30 yuan/KG higher than the condensation type liquid silicone.
 So only customers with environmental requirements will use additive silicone to make molds.
