After weighing the amount of compound and vulcanizing agent, the next thing to do is to add vulcanizing agent. It is recommended to follow the following steps.

1. First, clean the open mill to ensure its cleanliness to prevent mixing with other impurities. Then adjust the roll distance of the open mill to the minimum, and put the mixed rubber into the open mill for thin pass. After the thin pass, properly enlarge the roll distance of the open mixer so that the mixed rubber is evenly wrapped on the roll. The surface temperature of the compound should be about 80oC.

2. Control the temperature of the compound at about 60 ~ 80 ° C by adjusting the roll distance and properly passing cooling water. At this time, start putting the vulcanizing agent into the compound.

Attention during delivery:

a. The vulcanizing agent should be evenly put into the compound, rather than concentrated in one place.

b. The delivery speed should not be too fast. The delivery speed is fast, and the curing agent is easy to fall down, but not easy to disperse into the compound, which will affect the performance of the compound.

c. The vulcanizing agent falling under the drum shall be put into the compound.

3. After the curing agent and curing accelerator are not visible, start cutting twice on the left and right. To make the vulcanizing agent and vulcanization accelerator better dispersed in the rubber mixture, it can be confirmed by observing the morphology of the vulcanizing agent and vulcanization accelerator: if it is mixed into the rubber after it changes from solid to sticky silk, the mixing effect is good.

4. Take out the compound for thin pass. During thin pass, the roll distance of the open mill shall be adjusted to the minimum; The number of thin passes is 4 ~ 5.

When making a piece, it must be in accordance with the thickness required by the product molding. The whole process should be noted that the completion time should not be too long, otherwise the Mooney viscosity and physical properties will be reduced.
