Silicone rubber products may have various defects in the production process. Silicone rubber product cracking is one of them. What causes silicone rubber cracking and what solutions are available?

Cause 1: The new mold has edges, corners and burrs

Improvement plan: use a grinder to clean or sand paper, and then sand wash the mold after grinding, mixing and polishing (only for sand wash mold)

Cause 2: Mold opening crack

Improvement plan: pay attention to whether the silicone rubber products stick to both sides when opening the mold, and pay attention to the release agent and clean water (the release agent is easy to release the mold, and the clean water sticks to the mold more firmly)

Cause 3: Demoulding fracture

Improvement plan: pay attention to the demoulding method, the position of the air gun head and the strength of pulling the product by hand

Cause 4: Abnormal raw material formula and exceeding storage time

Improvement plan: Adjust the hardness of raw materials and pay attention to the storage time of raw materials (within 72 hours of the storage period of raw materials). If the storage time is exceeded, the raw materials will be returned for material preparation

Cause 5: Too much mold release agent

Improvement plan: reduce the amount of release agent
