Condensed silicone rubber is solidified at room temperature through curing agent (some people call it hardener). Addition silicone rubber is solidified through platinum catalyst. The price of platinum is higher, so the price of addition silicone rubber is also much higher.

Component A of condensed silicone rubber is silicone rubber and component B is vulcanizing agent. Generally, the ratio of component A and component B is 100:2 or 100:3. If you want the silicone rubber to cure faster, you can add more curing agent, but not more than 5%, because the more curing agent is added, the greater the shrinkage of the corresponding silicone rubber will be, which will lead to the smaller size of the cured silicone rubber, so some manufacturers of precision product molds must pay attention to this point.

The AB two-component of addition silicone rubber is different from the condensation type. The addition silicone rubber is usually proportioned according to the AB two-component ratio of 10:1 or 1:1, which is relatively simple to operate. The difference between the addition silicone rubber and the condensation type liquid silicone rubber is that the addition liquid silicone rubber is more resistant to high temperature, and its curing time has a great relationship with the temperature. The higher the temperature, the shorter the curing time.

Short. At 25 ℃, the general operating time is about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the crosslinking reaction will occur and will not flow. It will take 6-8 hours to fully cure. If the temperature is heated to about 120-150 ℃, the added liquid silicone rubber can be fully cured within 10 minutes. Moreover, the added liquid silicone rubber has the characteristics of higher environmental protection level, high temperature and easy molding, and is widely used in the development of new products.
