Introduction to the Classification and Characteristics of Silicone Mold Forming
Different products are made using different silicone molds, and different silicone molds have different molding methods. What are the main categories of silicone mold molding methods?
1. Pressing molding mold
Also known as a regular press mold. It involves directly placing the mixed, processed, and weighed semi-finished rubber material into a mold, and then feeding it into a flat vulcanizing machine for pressurization and heating. The rubber material is vulcanized and formed under pressure and heating.
Features: The mold has a simple structure, strong universality, wide range of use, and convenient operation, making it a significant proportion in rubber molded products.
2. Die casting forming mold
Also known as transfer mold or extrusion mold. It involves placing a mixed, simple, and limited amount of rubber material or rubber block semi-finished product into the die casting mold cavity, squeezing the rubber material through the pressure of the die casting plug, and allowing the rubber material to enter the mold cavity through the pouring system for vulcanization and shaping.
Features: More complex than ordinary molds, suitable for making thin-walled, slender, and easily bent products that cannot be pressed or barely pressed by ordinary molds, as well as rubber products with complex shapes and difficult feeding. The products produced using this mold have good compactness and superior quality.
3. Injection molding mold
It involves injecting pre heated rubber into a plastic state through the pouring system of an injection mold for molding and vulcanization.
Features: Complex structure, suitable for large, thick walled, thin-walled, and complex shaped products. High production efficiency, stable quality, and the ability to achieve automated production.
4. Extrusion molding mold
Various cross-sectional shapes of rubber profiles are made into semi-finished products through the molding mold of the machine head, achieving the purpose of preliminary modeling. Then, after cooling and shaping, they are transported to the vulcanization tank for vulcanization or used as pre formed semi-finished rubber materials required by the compression molding method.
Features: High production efficiency, stable quality, and the ability to achieve automated production.
