Introduction to Organosilicon Resin Composite Materials

Composite materials based on organic silicone resin, filled with fillers, or reinforced with fibers (or their fabrics). Organosilicon resin is usually formed by hydrolysis and condensation of organic Chlorosilane, with active groups on the molecule. It is a thermosetting resin due to further curing. There are four main forms of its composite materials.

(1) Organic silicone glass coated cloth is made by impregnating the glass cloth with organic silicone resin and drying it. It is mainly used as binding insulation or lining Thermal insulation material for electrical motors.

(2) Organosilicon laminated plastic involves laminating glass cloth impregnated with silicone resin and using high-pressure molding, low-pressure molding, or vacuum bag molding methods to produce products. It can be used for a long time at 250 ℃, and the short-term use temperature can reach up to 300 ℃. Mainly used for slot wedge insulation of H-class motors, high-temperature relay shells, radar radomes of high-speed aircraft, printed circuit boards, etc.

(3) Organosilicon mica products can be made into various hard or soft products, such as mica foil, mica tape, mica plate, etc., based on the type of silicone insulation resin selected and the structure of mica. They are mainly used as H-grade motor and electrical insulation materials.

(4) Organosilicon film compression plastic is made by using organosilicon resin as the base material, adding fillers such as quartz powder and white carbon black, and then rolling and crushing to produce a molding material. It has good flowability at 150 ℃ and can cure quickly. Asbestos filled silicone film products can work for a long time at 250 ℃, with an instantaneous working temperature of up to 650 ℃. They are now widely used in the aviation, aerospace, and electronic and electrical industries.
