It has excellent high-temperature and low-temperature resistance performance. It can resist oxidation, light aging, etc. It is also an excellent insulator.

The introduction of a small amount of unsaturated vinyl has greatly improved the vulcanization process and finished product performance of methyl vinyl silicone rubber, especially its heat aging resistance and high-temperature compression deformation resistance. The content of methyl vinyl siloxane units has a significant impact on the vulcanization effect and the heat resistance of the vulcanizate. If the content is too low, the effect is not significant. If the content is too high (up to 0.5mo1%), it will reduce the heat resistance of the vulcanizate.

This type of rubber contains a small amount of vinyl side chains, making it easier to vulcanize than methyl silicone rubber, providing more types of peroxides for vulcanization and greatly reducing the amount of peroxides used. Compared with dimethyl silicone rubber, the use of silicone rubber with a small amount of vinyl can significantly improve its resistance to compression permanent deformation. The low compression deformation reflects its better support at high temperatures as a sealing element, which is one of the necessary requirements for O-rings and washers. Methylvinyl silicone rubber has good processing performance and is easy to operate. It can be made into thick products and has a smooth surface for pressing and rolling semi-finished products. It is a commonly used type of silicone rubber.
