The properties and applications of polyether modified silicone oil
Polyether modified silicone oil is a unique organic silicon non-ionic surfactant that is grafted and copolymerized with polyether and hydrogen containing polydimethylsiloxane. When making products, various polyether modified silicone oils with different properties can be obtained by changing the number of silicone oil chain links or changing the ratio of polyether Eo to Po, as well as the number of chain links and end groups, to meet the needs of various industries. The molecular structure of polyether modified silicone oil contains hydrophobic and hydrophilic groups, thus possessing the characteristics of a surfactant. Compared with traditional surfactants, organosilicon surfactants have the following characteristics:
1. Low surface tension.
2. Good softness and anti-static performance.
3. Good viscosity reduction and leveling properties, suitable for adding to various resins (such as polyurethane resins, paint resins, plastic resins, etc.), can effectively improve the intermolecular stress of these resins, overcome the inherent shortcomings of these resins, and obtain new properties.
4. Good lubrication, suitable for producing high-end cutting fluids.
5. Good demulsification performance, suitable for oil-water separation in certain specific situations.
