Liquid silica gel is divided into two types: gas-phase silica gel and precipitation silica gel. There are certain differences in the production process, product performance, and application scope between these two types of silica gel.

1、 Production process
Gas phase production uses silicon tetrachloride and silicon dioxide obtained by burning air, with a fineness of over 1000 mesh. Precipitation production uses sodium silicate added with sulfuric acid to precipitate the silicon dioxide, with a fineness of only 300-400 mesh.
The white carbon black produced by gas-phase method is expensive and not easily hygroscopic.
Used as a matting agent in coatings.
Precipitation method white carbon black is cheap and easy to absorb moisture.
Can only be used for filling and reinforcing rubber and plastic products.

2、 Product performance
The liquid silica gel produced by the precipitation method will turn white when stretched and cannot be stretched too long, while the gas phase is different. No matter how it is stretched, the gas phase will not turn white and can be stretched relatively long without breaking.
Good gas-phase adhesive can be pulled to over 700%, and its transparency is higher than that of precipitation adhesive.

The tensile strength and tear strength of silicone rubber reinforced with gas-phase white carbon black are better than those reinforced with precipitation white carbon black.

The cost of silicone rubber produced by gas-phase method is higher than that produced by precipitation method, so the tensile and tear elongation of gas-phase adhesive with the same hardness is better than that of precipitation adhesive, and its environmental protection index is also higher.
Gas phase silica gel is generally an addition molded 10:1 transparent silica gel, while precipitation silica gel is generally an addition molded 1:1 semi transparent silica gel.

3、 Scope of use
Gas phase silicone has good tear resistance and is suitable for products inside sleeves, pressure cooker rings, silicone wires, etc;
 The precipitation method of silicone has a good impact life and is suitable for remote control buttons, mobile phone buttons, foot mats, etc.
