How to Dilute Printing Silicone?
Printing silicone is a kind of silicone specifically used for printing on fabrics and leathers. This silicone is highly transparent and made from environmentally friendly raw materials that have passed the FDA certification. Nowadays, many big brands in the clothing industry use printing silicone to make printed products or trademarks. Printing silicone consists of two components, A and B. When the ratio of A to B is 10:1, it is suitable for manual table operation. Component A is liquid silicone, which is transparent and viscous, while component B is a curing agent that is transparent and similar to the state of water. When the ratio of A to B is 1:1, both components are in a colloidal state, and this ratio is widely used in machine operations.
The printed products made with printing silicone will not delaminate and can be overprinted with different colors, breaking through the bottlenecks of single color, monotonous patterns and rare application in the fashion field in the past for silicone printing, thus providing the clothing industry with a decorative material with great prospects. The patterns printed with silicone have a strong three-dimensional effect and feel soft. The printed patterns also have excellent peel strength, wear resistance, brightness and wash fastness.
When printing silicone is printed onto fabrics through a screen, the effect shown is three-dimensional, with a 3D look. Repeating the printing process several times will make this effect more obvious, making the whole printed pattern look vivid.
The adhesion of printing silicone as a whole is very strong. It is washable, and there will be no color fading or glue peeling. Moreover, it is safe, environmentally friendly and odorless. It has been chosen by large brands of casual clothing and sportswear for printing trademarks and patterns.
Meanwhile, it can also be used for functions like anti-slip and heat insulation of gloves, dot gluing on the soles of children's socks, anti-slip car seat cushions, embossed patterns, printing on shoe uppers, molded trademarks, anti-slip webbing processing and so on.
Currently, the ratios of printing silicone are 10:1 or 1:1, and the ratio of 10:1 is more commonly used, where 10 parts are silicone and 1 part is the curing agent! The original glue of silicone printing is highly transparent and relatively thick paste. If you need to dilute the silicone printing during the operation, the commonly used method at present is to add silicone oil. Although adding silicone oil can increase the fluidity well, it will also reduce the hardness to some extent.
